What Are Adjustments?

You may occasionally see adjustments on your orders. These appear as line items on orders, similar to products and will have a value. These can be either positive or negative. 

In this guide, you'll learn what causes adjustments and how you can fix them.

What Causes Adjustments?

Adjustments occur if there are pricing mismatches been your menu on Lightspeed and Lightspeed Ordering. The most common examples of pricing mismatches are: 

  • Products with mismatched tax settings in Lightspeed and Lightspeed Ordering. 
  • Pricing changes in the Back Office that have not been synced over to Lightspeed Ordering and the POS.  

In this example, the price of martinis has changed from $11.50 to $12.00. This has brought about a $1 adjustment to the order.

How Do You Fix Variances? 

There are two steps: 

  1. Sync your menu on Lightspeed Ordering- This happens automatically each day ~30min before your open time but you can force an import any time. Check out this guide for more details. 
  2. Sync the POS to ensure it has the latest data from Back Office.

If these solutions do not resolve the issue, it may be due to an incorrect tax setting. Please check the tax setting on the product in the Back Office and Lightspeed Ordering's Venue Manager.
