What is an acceptable format for my menu?
A PDF, spreadsheet, or .doc works well. A customer-facing menu* is preferred as it is often clearer to see the relationship between products and modifications.
*Customer-facing menu = the menu you give to customers.
Can I send a photo or screenshot?
Your Onboarding Specialist won't accept a photo of your menu if there are more than 15 items. You will need to type your menu up into a document before you send it over. Otherwise, you can book in for a training session, and your Customer Success Manager can show you how to add products to your Lightspeed Back Office.
Can I send retail/drinks/non-edible products?
Sure! By “Menu” what your Onboarding Specialist is looking for is the list of products you sell and the price you sell them for.
How long does it take?
Once you send your Onboarding Specialist your menu it takes between three to five business days for the Onboarding Specialists to plug it into your Lightspeed.
My menu is not finished, does this matter?
Not necessarily. You can send your Onboarding Specialist a menu that is 90% complete. What they’re looking for is the products you sell and the price you sell them at, as well as how the products link to each other.
I’m changing my menu soon, does this matter?
Not at all. Lightspeed makes it quick and easy to change your menu on the fly!
What’s not included?
While the Menu Build service will give you a strong foundation, the service does not include adding descriptions, colours, photos, or arranging the layout.
Can you make revisions for me?
For tweaks and minor revisions, once you have received training from your Customer Success Manager, you will see how quick it is to make changes to your menu in the Back Office. For an overhaul, redesign, or large product upload, you can reach out to your Customer Success Manager. They can discuss your needs and determine a suitable path forward.
Will you build my Online and Delivery menus?
When it comes to third-party integrations, their offering is slightly different from ours. With a menu build of this kind, the service is available as an additional purchase. However, your Lightspeed Customer Success Manager can provide training to show you how you can do this yourself.
Can I speed up this process?
If you're in a rush to start trading, there are several ways to ensure your menu build is expedited.
- Send your menu to your Onbaroding Specialist as soon as possible
- Tell your Onboarding Specialist the date you plan to start using Lightspeed, and they may be able to prioritise your build
- You can preemptively book a training session with your Customer Success Manager. Should the Onboarding Specialists still be working on your menu build, your Customer Success Manager can provide training using the Demo menu.
